When will I snap?
Maybe I’ve been a bit too easy on people on Decknique. There are two hands full of people I am rather fed up with. Any bet on when I will snap? I loaded on more infractions/warnings than ever today, and things are noticeably getting a bit out of hand for a cardistry forum.
Sure, you can still have your own opinion on things. But there’s such thing as making worthless posts, trolling,...
Other interesting reasons the server move happened...
Jonathan Bayme approached me about paying for Decknique’s hosting maybe 2 weeks ago or so. But we’d been really busy. Theory11 is always getting multiple things done every week. I was preparing a move to the States. But I figured we would move it before the next billing cycle began.
Then 3 days ago I get a notice from my monthly bill failed to be paid on time (it’s set on...
Currently moving...
A lot of time being spent right now on getting a permanent move to the USA. Not a small deal, consultant’s coming over in about half an hour to estimate the move. Then I need a work visa and travel over the border into temp housing to find a place while starting full-time work.
And then on top of that, making sure DN’s still running alright, and we’re also looking to make tweaks...

To be brief, had an absolutely blasting time. I just got back… lots to catch up with. Hope all’s been going well!

Well that might have been the longest I’ve gone without making a post to this blog since it first started. It’s officially the longest-lasting blog I’ve ever made (the runner-up lasted 3 days).

Turns out that gibberish is actually a ZIP file. The contents appear to be pretty much useless, and just their basic code to do domain parking. So no real hints there, it seems.
Spam bots(?) put down even more but still crawling
So these spam bots have continued to harass the Decknique server with no negative effect on the performance for users, or even on my wallet (if I let all the requests in, I would have to pay extra bandwidth charges).
I’m resetting my spam bot counter now. Within a bit under a month, the stats are:

Brief update
Been quiet, eh? I’ve been travelling about Japan for over a week now. Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, etc… In an internet cafe, so not much I can do. Meantime, decknique has been hammered with 708,000 requests from spam bots and not even breaking a sweat. It surprises me they’re still going even though it’s having no effect whatsoever. I want to redesign this blog again… Thing I feel about going on vacataion… it builds you up with things you want to do, but forces you not to do them. Also means you can elaborate on your thoughts and develop them instead of jumpstarting on them. Got loads of ideas for this game I’ve been working on, too. At this point I don’t think it would be finished for at least a year...
People want to buy my used decks?
I thought the first guy was joking, but then he wasn’t the only one. Are you guys serious? Keep in mind most of these are missing a card or two… Shipping would also be expensive enough since I’m from Canada, I don’t think it would be worth it to you! Sorry guys, but don’t get your hopes up :)

WatchReduX Sequence - Despite the fact it’s still using the X-Cut in here (and milking it quite heavily I will add), I love the way the effects and style of the video turned out. At this point though I feel I’ve finally done the X-Cut enough for now and in my next video you probably won’t see it!

Playing games... is research!
I’m getting a bunch of demos in the Xbox 360 Marketplace… under the pretense of research for my game :) Of course I also realize my game’s never going to come to the amazing graphical/audio/everything standards these multi-million dollar productions have, but it’s still fun.
