Never say your submission is “no good”

“I know this video isn’t great, but I hope you like it anyways!”

It’s funny. I saw this many times on Decknique, I’ve seen it on theory11, and I’ve even seen it in the boxed deck challenge.

Why on earth would you expect us to accept a video if even you say “it sucks.” Decknique was and theory11 is selective in which videos they post. You should be convincing them they should post your video. And for the challenge… submitting a video and saying it’s no good? What? Maybe if you follow it up with “but I’d still like some feedback” instead of “I hope I win.” Otherwise it’s just silly.

The same goes with saying “I made this in a few minutes.” Wow, no effort in your video? Really, that’s not a selling point.

There’s a difference between being humble and plainly saying you’re accepting the fact that your video is bad or that you didn’t put any effort into it.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t submit the video, but omit these facts! Leave it up to the person who accepts/declines your video to judge whether or not the video makes the cut.
